This qualification is designed to enable to learners develop confidence in using mathematics and provide a foundation for progression into employment or further technical education and develop skills for everyday life, where the skills gained can be applied to solve mathematical problems. This qualification has an objective to indicate that learners can demonstrate their ability in mathematical skills and their ability to apply these, through appropriate reasoning and decision making, to solve realistic problems of increasing complexity.

Assessment Method

This qualification consists of one external assessment divided into two (2) sections:

• Section A: The non-calculator section
• Section B: The calculator section

The assessment will test a learner’s ability to make analysis and interpreting the results of the analysis.
