This qualification promotes specialization for learners to develop specialist knowledge and skills in their area of responsibility and enable learners to promote a values-based culture within their setting. Learners must be in paid or voluntary work to enable assessment to take place and may work in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care or some clinical healthcare settings. Upon achieving this qualification, learners can progress into roles such as Social Services Officer, Social Care Assessor, Care Assessment Officer, etc.

Entry Requirements

• Learners should be at least 18 years old.
• Valid DBS.
• Functional skills Maths and English completion

Delivery

• Duration – learners can usually complete between 15 – 18 months.
• Online delivery.
• Placements are required for achievement of this qualification.

Assessment Method

Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in a qualification. Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes, all course units must be a pass and show competence in a real work environment.
