This qualification aims to prepare learners to become Early Years Educator, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. An Early Years Educator supports children to develop numeracy and language skills, have responsibility to help ensure each child feels secure and meets the care needs of the individual child and shape their learning experience to reflect their observations.

Additionally, upon achieving this qualification, the learner is eligible to enter the workforce as Early Years Educator which can be in various roles such as Practitioner in nursery schools, Pre-school work, childminders and more.

Entry Requirements

• Learners should be at least 16 years old.
• DBS check.
• Functional skills Maths and English completion.

Delivery

• Duration – learners can usually complete between 12 – 24 months.
• Online delivery.
• Placements are required for achievement of this qualification.

Assessment Method

Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in a qualification. Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and show competence in a real work environment.
