The qualification develops the knowledge, skills and competence of learners working in a wide range of roles in a health and social care setting. This qualification covers various areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health and social care procedures.
Learners must be in paid or voluntary work to enable assessment to take place and may work in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care or some clinical healthcare settings. Upon achieving this qualification, learners can progress into roles such as Senior Care Support Worker, Lead Social Work Assistant, etc.
Entry Requirements
- Learners should be at least 16 years old.
- Valid DBS.
- Functional skills Maths and English completion.
Delivery
- Duration – learners can usually complete between 12 – 18 months.
- Online delivery.
- Placements are required for achievement of this qualification.
Assessment Method
Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in a qualification. Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes, all course units must be a pass and show competence in a real work environment.
